J.Crew Safari Capri..

J. Crew Café capri in Safari Cat print - listen, it purrs..
Pants that I need. Pants that remind my Mom of Carol Brunett. I personally think, why not? My lovely friendmate (friend + roommate) recently purchased the linen shorts in this print. I plan to sneak into her closet, "borrow" the shorts and live in them. I'm sure she won't notice..until she reads this post..which will be awkward.

The only dress that left me speechless from the Met Gala 2012: Beyonce silencing the crowd in Givenchy haute couture by Riccardo Tisci.

Sicilian Dreams..

All my life, I've heard stories and dreamt of a place called Carini, Sicily. I'm so happy to say that this July, I'll be spending two weeks on the beautiful island! I can't wait to visit relatives, eat too much Sicilian food, walk amongst the lemon trees and take in my family's homeland. My Nonna recently asked me a question I've been thinking about as well - what clothes will I wear? I decided to look at some photos of my Mother from her previous Sicily trips and gather inspiration from there. After all, Mother knows best.

My parents in the town square of Palermo, Sicily. My Mom is wearing a sweater, now I know where I got my obsession from.

This is one of my favorite pictures of my parents. They look so stunning, and dare I say my Father looks a bit like John Travolta circa Saturday Night Fever

My Mother in a gorgeous polka dot dress with my brother. I obviously wasn't in the picture, yet.

I can't wait to make memories like these come July. As for clothing, I'm going to keep my suitcase basic with blues, reds, white and black.  Just like Mom.

Eva Mendes does Femme Fatale..

A bit behind, but I can't get over these shots of Eva Mendes from Marie Claire. She does femme fatale the only way it can be done - Sophia Loren style.

Gorgeous no? I'll be taking some fashion notes from this shoot for the upcoming summer. I have some exciting news to share with you soon, so stay tuned..

Madewell Sweaters to Live in..

As if Cupid hit me with one of his arrows, I instantly fell in love with this Madewell 'Arrowshift' sweater the moment I saw it. I loved it so much that despite telling my friend to stop me from buying more sweaters, I went online and ordered it anyway. It's so lovely I just want to live it in.

Gap's Cobalt Khakis..

Go Cobalt blue!
What is better than regular khakis? Cobalt blue khakis. After months of endless window shopping and leaving fitting rooms in a fury, I stumbled upon these khakis from the Gap - during a sale no less. They're the perfect fit - with the ability to dress up and down. Most importantly, they act as the perfect mate to cheetah prints of all spots and sizes.

Dolce & Gabbana Summer 2012..

A cropped top to go with your skirt Miss?
Dolce & Gabbana's Spring/Summer 2012 collection has me dizzy with love. It is the perfect showcase of a Sicilian summer colored in all prints and shapes, with high-waisted skirts paired with cropped tops - and color pairings that make color-blocking look like child's play. I'm counting down the months till I can welcome cropped tops into my wardrobe and walk like Sophia Loren in Sicily among the lemon trees.

J.Crew Penciled In..

Pencil me in Warm Jade
Happy March 1st! It's almost Spring and I can't wait to wear sandals and bright colors. I wouldn't mind dressing in J.Crew's No. 2 Pencil Skirt (one pictured above is double-serge cotton in Warm Jade), with a simple v-neck sweater. What are you excited to wear this Spring?

J.Crew Lomellina Swim Suit..

I'll take a one-piece please?
Wouldn't this bathing suit be perfect to wear on the beaches of Sicily? I thought so too, which is why I added it to my J.Crew shopping cart. I couldn't resist this Lomellina draped one piece in Rich Peacock. Till Sicily (hopefully)!

Madewell Dots..

Stripes come and go, but dots are forever
Lately, I've been drawn to the pattern - whether it be a skirt, a blouse or even socks. Madewell 1937 (my guilty pleasure) has everything dotty, and I'm in love with their rouge dot skirt. In. Love.

Like Françoise Hardy..

Françoise Hardy
I'm not one to have style icons, but as of late, Françoise Hardy has been my inspiration. The French singer and style icon of the 1960s, still holds the title of cool today. She may have even invented it for all I know. I've been trying to master the art of using black-eyeliner, an art that she seemed to pull off so easily. Safe to say I need more practice. Who is your style icon?

Moon and Lola Monogram Necklace.

Moon & Lola Acrylic Monogram Necklace
My Moon & Lola monogram necklace finally came in the mail this week. It features my initials (J. C. E), going from first, last and middle. The block monogram is made out of acrylic and attached with a gold chain. I saw it in a recent issue of Lucky magazine and decided to give myself a belated Christmas gift. Don't you love it?

Every laptop deserves a sleeve - and this red number from Kate Spade keeps everything cheery and fun - not to mention safe. I'd love to tote this around the City - because why blend in?
